AIB 29er Nationals 2021

The Royal Cork Yacht Club are delighted to host the 2021 29er Nationals in association with 29er Ireland on July 3rd and 4th 2021. This year’s event is being kindly sponsored by AIB and Mervue Laboratories and forms part of Cork300, a series of events celebrating the Tricentenary of The Royal Cork Yacht Club.

In organising this event, we will utilise the guidelines for events from Irish Sailing thus we will be mindful of the potential impact on the local community, on other water users
as well as the emergency services and we will help to minimise risk by taking an extra conservative approach to the event. A COVID-19 Officer has been appointed to ensure the event takes place within Government, Irish Sailing and Royal Cork public health guidelines.

Pre event training-

The RCYC 29 er class will be training on the 29/30 of June and July 1st, with a “lay day” on Friday.

Other 29er groups are welcome to join us during this time. Launch time will be at 11 am , recovering around 3 pm for debriefs. The last hour of the session (from approximately 130 to 230) will be given over to practice races.

Due to the ever present COVID 19 restrictions we would ask that visiting teams train during these times and that we stick to the above timings. Post sailing, you are welcome to use the outdoor facilities of the club, however indoor space for debriefing etc will not be available to travelling teams due to Covid 19 restrictions.

As always , anyone who is ill in anyway shape or form is asked not to attend the club in any capacity, for the protection of sailors, parents,  members and volunteers.

Please contact Principal coach Ben Fusco if you would like to take part.
