The Topper 5.3 & the ILCA4 classes are a key part of the strategic development of our Junior sailors nationally and an integral part of the Youth Pathway for dinghy sailing at RCYC. In line with this, we are delighted to offer a series of open Topper 5.3 & ILCA4 training & racing clinics this February inconjunction with Irish Sailing .
On January 21st, RCYC offers open training the day after the IODAI Sprint Series. Sailors staying on the day after the IODAI Sprint series can avail of top class training on Sunday Jan 21st from the RCYC Optimist coaches of the RCYC Coaching Panel.
The Irish Sailing Junior Topper & ILCA4 squads are training at RCYC for the February midterm, and RCYC are delighted to run open training & racing clinics in parallel which is open to all Topper & ILCA4 sailors nationally. The training will be lead by the the RCYC lead coaches from the respective classes, working in conjunction with Liam Glynn and his team of squad coaches for the week.
The large fleets on the water at RCYC will be a great opportunity for early season preparation for the Topper Winters & ILCA Munsters before the Irish Sailing Youth Nationals incorporating IODAI Trials at Easter, which is also to be held at RCYC this coming season.
Optimist Junior & Senior fleets – January 21st – Numbers limited to 20(non-member) sailors
Topper 5.3 – February 10th-13th – Numbers limited to 20(non-member) sailors
ILCA4 – February 15th-18th – Numbers limited to 20(non-member) sailors
Topper/ILCA Training costs €110 per sailor for the 4 days, and numbers are limited to non-members due to limited resources, so book early. A daily option of €32/day will apply for those not available to attend all 4 days.
Costs for Optimist training day Jan 21st is €32.
