Come join us for the final ILCA Ireland event of the season. We promise very competitive fleets and super sailing areas.
Introduction
The ILCA Ireland 2025 End of Season event at RCYC will take place on September 27th and 28th. Racing will take place for ILCA4, ILCA6 , ILCA7. The End of Season event in 2025 is a ranking event for ILCA end of year rankings which are important for any sailors intending to enter international events in 2026.
It is our intention to use robotic marks on a course outside Roches Point. There are a total of three race areas depending on weather conditions.
Visiting sailors may leave their dinghy and trailers in the RCYC dinghy park for the duration of the series. Camping is available free onsite with camper vans charged a nominal 20 euro a night (prebooking required to park inside dinghy park).
Food and some music available on Saturday evening.
Event Highlights:
We are delighted that international ILCA sailors Ewan McMahon, Finn lynch and Eve McMahon will attend the event. Finn and Eve both reprepsented Ireland in the 2024 Olympics and Ewan is also campaigning to reach the 2028 Olympics in LA.
The ISA ILCA 6 Academy is also attending the event with Bobby Driscoll, Conor Cronin, Lucy Ives and Marcas Shelly. Sienna Wright, ILCA 6 World Youth silver medalist and 2024 U17 world champion is also hoping for a strong event. Sienna is the current ILCA 6 National Champion having won the recent championships in Ballyholme in August beating local Daniel Palmer into second place. The ILCA 6 sailors are battling for a spot at the Youth World championships at Vilamoura in December.
In the ILCA 4 event, we have current ILCA 4 national champion Max O’Hare competing against some excellent local sailors including Conor Lynch, Blake Vaughan and Daisy Walsh all of whom made the top ten at the ILCA nationals.
