Women on the Water – Sunday 10 May
The Royal Cork Yacht Club is delighted to host Women on the Water on Sunday May 10th – a relaxed and sociable day on and off the water, celebrating female participation in sailing at every level.
Kindly supported by Irish Sailing, this event is open to members and non-members alike. Whether you’re trying sailing for the first time, returning after time away, or are already an active sailor, the day is designed to bring women together to connect, sail, and enjoy Cork Harbour.
The format combines time on the water with a strong social element ashore. Participants will have the opportunity to sail on keelboats, take a harbour tour by RIB, or simply enjoy being part of the atmosphere around the Club. For more experienced sailors and members, it’s a great opportunity to meet others, share experience, and enjoy a relaxed day of sailing.
The day begins with tea, coffee and scones in the Club Bar, followed by a short briefing before heading afloat. After sailing, everyone will return to the Club Bar for a social gathering and the presentation of spot prizes.
All participants will receive a small gift, and anyone interested in further opportunities—whether learning to sail or getting more involved in club activities—can find out more on the day.
Schedule
11:00am – Tea, coffee, scones and briefing in the Club Bar
12:00pm – On the water
2:00pm – Return to the Club Bar for social gathering and spot prizes
All participants must register below before 2pm on Thursday May 7th.
