WEST CORK CRUISING TIPS

WEST CORK CRUISING TIPS – By Rear Admiral Cruising Pat Lyons

Venue: Upstairs Bar RCYC Wednesday June 24th @ 20.00 Hrs.
Following on from the highly successful (and very well attended) cruising tips talk by Vice Admiral Paddy Mc Glade on june 9th last, we have decided to run a further night in similar vein, which will this time be very kindly presented by our Rear Admiral Cruising Pat Lyons.

As our last presentation was by and large attended and enjoyed by some of our most experienced Sail Cruisers, for this session we are very much targeting members from both our Motor and Sail sectors, who are relatively unfamiliar with the area, and/or may be new to cruising.

Pat will take us through a selection of the most favoured cruising spots from Crosshaven to Bantry Bay, complete with such as the safer passages through the likes of Carberys 100 Isles/Roaring Water Bay, favourite stop over areas, bolt holes, anchoring & safety tips, etc. etc.

Using admiralty charts and cruising almanacs for presentation purposes, along with providing us with the benefit of his long experience of cruising this region, Pat’s talk will have something for everyone interested in making maximum use of their boat whether as a day tripper or overnighter.

Please register your intention to attend with the RCYC office, to assist us in organising seating arrangements etc.
