Following a very busy month of virtual sailing, 20 sailors now go through to our April Champion of Champions event on Sunday May 3rd.
April Leagues have been running for the National 18 class, Keelboats, 1720’s, Mixed Dinghies & 29ers, Lasers, Toppers and Optimists with over 100 competitors in total. Final April League results for keelboats are here and dinghies are here.
On Sunday May 3rd we will hold a virtual prizegiving and chat on Zoom for each of the leagues with Admiral Colin Morehead and Irish Sailing President David O’Brien, this will be followed by the Champion of Champions racing immediately after. All spectators are welcome from the start and highly encouraged to join in on the fun!

Sunday 3rd May 2020
- April league prize giving for all fleets with the Admiral on Zoom @ 18:30hrs
- Champion of Champions FG @ 19:00hrs
- Race Officer is Daragh Connolly
- Racing managed via whatsapp, youth sailors will require parental support
- 6 races, 1 discard
- Race 6 is a non discardable double points medal race
- Races 1 – 3 will be in J70s, races 4 – 6 will be in 49ers
- Results will be posted live to Sailwave through the night
- Champion of Champions crowned in the prize giving on zoom immediately after racing
Spectators are encouraged to join on the night from the start. You will experience the prize giving in advance of sailing, we will then share the racing on zoom with special guest commentators Seafra Guilfoyle and Kieran O’Connell. Finally, stay with us for the crowning of the overall champion on Zoom after racing.
