The UK Sailmakers May league came to a Conclusion last Friday night with all fleets racing followed by the overall prize giving for that month. May was a month plagued by light winds and lost races, with most fleet only managing to count two races across the whole month. Last Friday night was no exception being raced in a very light 5knt South easterly breeze. Classes 1, 2, 3 and 1720’s headed out to number three first and then around a few inner harbour marks before finishing at cage while the White Sail fleet stayed in harbour between 5, 14, Corkbeg and cage. A big Thank you to Dave Kearney and Dave Coveney for doing a great job as RO on the night.
After racing everyone gathered in the club house for some well earned food and refreshments before the UK Sailmaker overall prize giving which was well attended in the first of the new end of month prize givings, combining both the traditional Thursday night racing with the IHS Friday night racing to give a great monthly social evening for all involved.
