2022 Try Sailing

The RCYC Try-sailing program has completed for this season.

However, you can still register your interest in the form below, and we can schedule a try-sailing session for your sailor at the beginning of next season.

For those sailors with some experience, or know which dinghy they would like to sail, they can become members and  join any of the dinghy racing fleets at any time, please call the office to get more information.

Those entered in the current try-sailing program will continue to have sessions until mid-September.

The RCYC try-sailing program is run in conjunction with the Irish Sailing try-sailing initiative to get people sailing and on the water.

This year, throughout the months of August and September, we welcomed non-members to our club to try sailing.

Monday evenings for Primary school aged kids who will integrate to our Cadet club.

Sunday mornings for Secondary school aged kids who will integrate to the Junior Sailing Academy.

For more information on the Cadet Club or Junior Sailing Academy, see the Youth Pathway.

Please bring your own buoyancy aid and wetsuit or equivalent for going afloat.

This initiative is targetted to non-members, current members should follow the Youth Pathway programs.

Non Members: There will be a charge for the try-sailing sessions which will be deducted from future membership fees should you decide to join later in the year. The charge will apply once a confirmed slot has been allocated to the sailor. A sailor can attend 1 series of try-sailing sessions, thereafter they will need to become a member and go on to enjoy the full program of sailing available at the club.
