Despite the horrendous wet weather last Sunday morning, things improved significantly by midday to allow the Junior BBQ to take place as planned outside the club dinghy centre by mid afternoon.
Special thanks to Frank Thompson of Thompson’s Farm and Tom Durcan of Durcan Meats who very generously sponsored the top quality meat which catered for well over one hundred children and adults. Thanks also to Anthony McCann and his team for helping out with the logistics of pre preparing food for such a large number.
We must also acknowledge the hard work of Declan O’Sullivan and Jim McGinley who slaved over the hot BBQ’s (as clearly demonstrated in the photo) to ensure that the food was cooked to perfection. The exercise also confirmed that the fire alarm in the dinghy centre was fully functional. Finally to all those members who contributed to the salad requirements………A big thank you to all.
