Le Royal Cork Yacht Club s’étend un Céad Míle Fáilte pour les concurrents dans La Coupe des TROIS Phares
The French Challenge Classique Atlantique (CCA) is a classic yacht regatta circuit created in 1998 by the Yacht Club Classique. The different events are co-ordinated by the YCC and organised in the same spirit by several yacht clubs of the atlantic and the channel coast between La Rochelle and Trebeurden.
In 2010 nine regattas are registered in the agenda of the CCA and without any doubt Coupe des TROIS Phares race from August 6th to 12th organised by The Yacht Club Classique, The Royal Fowey Yacht Club, and the Royal Cork Yacht Club will be the most exciting. For the first time British, Irish and French Classics will compete in an offshore race with two simultaneous starts, one in Britain at Fowey, another in Ireland at Crosshaven, a stop at Brest and a finish line at La Rochelle.The organisers are offering a unique opportunity to Royal Cork sailors to take part in their harbour race on Friday 6th August. If you would like to take part and race on one of these Classic Yachts, there will be a briefing in the Upstairs bar of the Royal Cork Yacht Club on Thursday 5th August (tomorrow ) evening at 18.00hrs This none too serious harbour race will take place on Friday F.G. 12.45hrs. The boats will leave the marina at 12.noon. The organisers can place 12 to 15 persons across the 10 participating boats.
A special evening of food and Irish entertainment has been arranged on Friday night for the visitors and together with the competitors from the Masts and Rigging Friday Night League should make for a splendid gathering and convivial evening.
The race to Brest will commence on Saturday August 7th.
