Sunlight and Shadow and Hills and Dales on Day 3 of Cork Week Racing

The action was fast and furious during Races 5 and 6 at todays racing.  15-18 knots of  a southerly breeze with wind over tide created a huge swell and the resultant descent into troughs cannot have done any good for the stomachs of the competitors.

In the glamour classes Super Zero is now looking more interesting with Austin and Gwen Fragomen’s Interlodge who won Race Five today, on equal points with Paprec Reclyage just three points behind Johnny Vincent’s PACE and one point behind the Gray, Laidlaw BOB.  In IRC Zero Dave Dwyer’s Marinerscove.ie on 13 points is chasing hard to catch Richard Cotter’s Nemo of Cowes on 9 points with Kieran Twomey’s Gloves Off sailed by Mark Mansfield on 20 points. In IRC 1 The crew of Roxy 6 are smiling tonight leading on equal points with Conor Phelan’s Jump Juice both on 9 points and Richard Fildes’ Impetuous on 11 points.

Tomorrow Thursday The Harbour Course will be sailed by Fleet E – Corporate and White Sail One and Two. Fleet D -1720,IRC 5, IRC 6 and SB3 will sail the Slalom Course. Fleet C  –  IRC 3 and 4 will sail the Olympic Course.  Fleet B  -the J 109s and IRC 2 will sail the Windwaard/Leeward course and Fleet A – IRC Super Zero, IRC Zero and IRC 1 will sail the Trapezoid Course.
