“ICRA are pleased to announce that a well attended very constructive meeting took place on Saturday last at the Royal Cork Yacht Club in preparation for participation in the Rolex Commodores Cup next August in the Solent.
A consensus was arrived at that the assessment process that had taken place during 2009 had been very productive for all who participated.It was agreed unanimously that in the current environment the best way to proceed going forward to 2010 was to revert to an organic self selection process.The decision was taken to go forward in this way as it was felt it offered the best prospect of fielding two teams in the event which is essential to achieving the aims of Team Ireland.
The meeting concluded very positively that decisive action had been taken and there was a real enthusiasm to get on with the task of endeavouring to form teams in the period ahead.”
