Seafra Guilfoyle led the RCYC team at the Laser 4.7 European Championships at Workum, Netherlands this week finishing 15th in the Gold Section and a superb 2nd in the Under 16 section. With only seven races completed, he scored a 2nd and a 3rd in very changeable conditions of winds between 0 and 35 knots. Cian Byrne was another of the Irish competitor to make the Gold Fleet with a final 64th place in the series and 10th in the Under 16 section.
In Bronze, John Durcan finished an excellent 10th place and was just overage for the Under 16 section.
This is the second excellent European result this week with Peter Mc Cann finishing seventh in the Optimist Championship last Saturday.
