Last Saturday, Optimist League racing deviated from the norm when a fleet of over 35 raced in Cuskinny. This August the CH Marine Irish National and Open Championships (www.oppienationals.com) will be held at the Royal Cork and with Cuskinny identified as one race areas it was great to get some practice in. Tough conditions resulted in a number of retirees but well done to everyone for taking part. The Club Ribs were all assigned to the ISAF Womens Match Racing World Championships so a big thank you to Oppy Parents, John and Denise O’Hare, Pat and Deirdre Horgan, Dave and Clodagh O’Regan and William and Orla Twomey who used their own Ribs to allow racing to go ahead on Saturday. Thanks also of course to Linda and Paul for arranging to race in Cuskinny and coordinating events on the water.
