Report from Topper Ireland last Sunday sums up a great day on the water. “Fantastic days sailing at today’s Topper Traveller at Rush Sailing Club. The morning looked as though the event was going to be a total wipeout with waves breaking over the bar, but by moving the course up into the estuary, three exciting tactical races were held with the added bonus that parents were able to get a great view from the shore… and a few photos. Well done to everyone at the club for hosting a great event and to the sailors who ignored the forecast and turned up to race. Full results to follow soon on the website“.
The club coaching programme took a break last weekend after the recent Youth Nationals allowing sailors to attend the traveller in Rush. The RCYC flag was kept flying by Jonathan O’Shaughnessy and Ciaran Ryan. Jonathan was attending his first Topper traveller and came second overall. Well done.
