RS Feva Munster Championship 2009

Vikki and Amy in action at the RS Feva Munsters

Vikki Cudmore and Amy Harrington win the RS Feva Munster Championship held recently at the Royal Cork Yacht Club.Race officer David O’Brien set a challenging course for the strong fleet of RS Fevas for the Munster Championship held in conjunction with the 420 National Championships in the Royal Cork on Saturday 5th Sept. where racing was held on the Curlane bank in Cork harbour.

Vikki Cudmore and Amy Harrington overcame a poor start to just pip Ali Morehead and Grattan Roberts on the line for first place, with Chloe Crosbie and Catherine Geoghegan also from the Royal Cork coming third in the first race of the day.
The forecast for the following day was for 26knts to 28knts of wind and heavy rain from the south, so the race officer wisely opted to go for 4 races. Cudmore and Harrington reeled off three more wins in a superb display of sailing. Julie Tingle and Peter Stokes followed with three 2nd places.
The weather closed in as predicted with heavy rain and squalls for the next day of racing. All racing for the Fevas was abandoned before the fleet left the dinghy park leaving Cudmore and Harrington winners, Julie Tingle and Peter Stokes second. Ali Morehead and Grattan Roberts came third showing that they are names to look for in the future.
