Congratulations and good wishes to Simon Coveney on his appointment to Cabinet in the new Coalition Government elected on February 25th, 2011.
Simon has received one of the major cabinet positions with responsibility for the giant agricultural industry, the mainstay in our agrarian economy. The post also includes responsibility for the thriving and growing world-renowned food industry and very importantly the restoration of the Department of the Marine which will be music to the ears of all connected with marine affairs. Listening to his first interview on radio after his appointment, it was very obvious he is going to revel in the areas covered in his brief and for which his qualifications are so eminently suitable.
The Admiral, Flag Officers and Members wish the Minister well in his new portfolio.
