The annual Christmas lunch of the Club was an extremely pleasant occasion when Enda Riordan was honoured for her 40 years of loyal and dedicated service. In the festive atmosphere of the dining room with its Christmas decor and beautifully set tables, a capacity good humoured attendance listened to Vice Admiral Paddy McGlade introduce Enda.
This was followed by Admiral Mike MacCarthy making a presentation to her to mark the auspicious occasion. Unbeknownst to Enda, who was blissfully unaware of what was about to happen, her family had come into the club by another entrance and were waiting in the wings to surprise her. After the presentation Enda and her family, son John, daughter Kim son in law Robert and her two grandchildren Aidan and Lucy May, joined the Admiral, Vice Admiral and their wives for lunch. Before dining the assembled gathering were treated to a selection of Christmas carols sung by junior members of the club. Enda is looking forward to continuing with her dedicated service which is greatly appreciated by the members.
