Royal Cork Sailors Compete In ILCA4 Worlds

The Royal Cork Yacht Club have a brilliant squad of sailors racing in the ILCA4 (4.7) Youth World Championships in Dun Laoghaire this week. More than 230 competitors from 32 countries are participating in the event and our sailors are strongly represented in the results for both the boys and girls’ fleets that are racing separately.

This event is being co-hosted by the Royal St. George Yacht Club and The National Yacht Club with the support by Dun Laoighaire Rathdown County Council, Fáilte Ireland and Irish Sailing. This World Championships will run from the 07th to 14th of August 2021 and this is the third time in five years that Ireland has been chosen to host a World Championship for the International Laser Class Association. In the challenging backdrop created by the global pandemic, Event Organising Committee Chairman, Ian Simington and his race team led by Con Murphy have diligently worked to ensure all activities are fully compliant whilst ensuring safety, world class racing and fun for these rising starts.
