The Laser Ulster Championships were on last weekend at the Lough Erne Yacht Club. Six sailors from the Royal Cork travelled. The sailors included Nick Walsh and Eddie Rice in the Standard Rig fleet, Charlie Moloney, Tara Coveney and Ronan Walsh in the Laser Radial fleet and Richard McGinley in the Laser 4.7 fleet. After 6 races over the two days in light and fickle conditions, with the odd 20knt squall thrown in for good measure, Richard McGinley was crowned Ulster 4.7 Champion with three 1st, a 2nd and 6th (discarded an OCS). Well done Richard. Nick Walsh was also crowned Ulster Champion in the Standard Rig event with five 1sts and a 2nd. Well done Nick. Eddie Rice came third overall. Charlie Moloney finished 13th overall, Ronan Walsh 15 and Tara Coveney 23rd, in the very competitive Laser Radial fleet. Thanks to Lough Erne Yacht Club for running a great event. Well done to all.
