Royal Cork Optimist Sailors Dominate Trials

Royal Cork Optimist sailors continue to dominate the national selection trials for representative teams for the major international regattas in the summer. With four sailors in the top five and the winner in each of today’s races in Lough Ree, things are looking good.

Cian Byrne won the first race, Seafra Guilfoyle the second and the last was won by Brendan Lyden. However, best overall results of the day were posted by Patrick Crosbie with a 3, 5, 3 in very tricky conditions on the lake. This moves Patrick up to 3rd overall behind Peter McCann in 1st and Kinsale’s Colm O’Regan in 2nd. Completing the top 5 are Seafra Guilfoyle and John Durcan. Full results can be seen in the results section above.
