The June skills coaching programme will take place on the first 3 weeks of June. The club is delighted to have secured the services of Thomas Chaix as coach for the programme. Thomas is a highly experienced single and double handed dinghy coach very familiar already to many of our sailors.
This programme is aimed at all main fleet sailors in Optimists, all levels of Laser, Feva, 420 and (potentially) topper sailors. It has proved incredibly successful in previous years in rapidly developing the skills and confidence of the younger sailors, or sailors new to boats, who have not been exposed to the winter training programmes. The weather is generally more pleasant too! The coaching will take place over 3 weeks starting Tuesday 4th June. All coaching will take place on weekdays in small groups guaranteeing high quality coaching.
Typically the Optimists will be subdivided into 3 or 4 smaller ability based groups. The sessions are usually half day in duration to maximize concentration and avoid fatigue. The target cost for each session is €20 per sailor per session.
