The Laser Nationals were held at the club from the 19th to the 22nd of August. In total 100 boats competed over the 3 fleets with Royal Cork entering a 24 strong team. 4 races were sailed on both Thursday and Saturday but sailing was abandoned on both Friday and Sunday for too much wind and not enough wind respectively!
Nick Walsh RCYC topped a 14-boat standard fleet with a 12-point lead over clubmate Edward Rice and Robert Howe of Monkstown Bay third.
RCYC’s Jonathan O’Shaughnessy won the 49-boat Radial division. Second was Harry Pritchard RCYC and third Elle Cunnane TBSC/RCYC.
A 35-boat 4.7 fleet was led from start to finish by Howth Yacht Club’s Rocco Wright with an 11 point margin from Royal Cork’s Oisín Mac Sweeney. Wright’s clubmate Luke Turvey was third.
The overall prize went to RCYC as best club.
