Royal Cork To Challenge Royal St. George in Dinghy Team Racing Competition

A one day team racing regatta is currently being organised between the Royal Cork and Royal St. George Yacht Clubs. The idea of the regatta is to have competitive teams racing between the two clubs while still having fun and improving boat handling skills and knowledge of team racing rules. The regatta will be sailed in Firefly dinghies, with a proposed briefing at 10am on Saturday 11th February coming. The regatta will be held in Dun Laoghaire and for those that require it, accommodation can be arranged.

The hope is that there will be three teams (six sailors on each team) from each club going head to head over the course of the day. Prior team racing experience isn’t necessary and ideally competitors would be over the age of 14, but again, isn’t 100% necessary. All junior dinghy members are welcome to show interest by completing the attached survey link and detailing name, contact number and date of birth. Please complete by this coming Friday(20th) so that the event can be finalised by the organisers who hope to list our teams by the 23rd January.
