Royal Cork 1st, 2nd and 3rd at the ISA All Ireland Sailing Championships

The O’Leary Family of Royal Cork was on top form at the Euro Car Parks sponsored ISA All Ireland Sailing Championships at Howth Yacht Club over the weekend when they placed first, second and third.  Match racing expert ‘Nin’ O’leary took the title ahead of father, Anthony, in second place and brother Peter in third.  Peter, who has recently returned from competing at the Beijing Olympics in the Star Class, previously won the event in 2006 and 2000. A fourth member of the O’Leary family, youngest brother Robert, was crewing on Anthony’s boat. The defending champion, Stefan Hyde also of Royal Cork finished in fifth place.

In the Junior and Girls competition four races were sailed  to provide a clear winner in Philip Doran from Courtown Sailing Club.

Tiffany Brien from Royal North of Ireland Yacht Club and Ballyholme Yacht Club was second overall but as the highest placed girl is also the ISA All Ireland Girl Champion.  Isabella Morehead of Royal Cork Yacht Club placed third overall in the Girls Championship and Richard Harrington also of Royal Cork placed seventh overall in the Junior Championship.
