Peter McCann & Arran Walsh win Irish 420 Nationals

The 420 National Championships were won by Royal Cork’s Peter McCann and Arran Walsh last weekend.  PRO Richard Kissane ran 9 races over 3 days in a variety of conditions at the Royal St George Yacht Club in Dun Laoghaire on 22nd to 24th August.  Peter & Arran won 4 of the races and beat the perennial hotshots Robert Dixon (Howth YC) and Sean Waddilove (Skerries SC) with a race to spare. In 3rd place was Ewan McMahon and Colin O’Sullivan (both HYC).  First female crew (and 4th overall) was Cliodhna Ni Shuilleabhain (Kinsale YC) and Jil McGinley (Royal Cork YC).  Royal Cork’s other entrants were Harry Whitaker & Grattan Roberts (6th overall) and Douglas Elmes with Bill Staunton (SSC) in 7th.
