Patrick Crosbie and Grattan Roberts of Royal Cork Yacht Club take second at Leinster 420 Championships

The Cork duo of Crosbie and Roberts took three wins at the Leinster 420 Championships over Saturday and Sunday last at Malahide Yacht Club.  Overall victory went to Robert Dickson and Sean Waddilove from HowthYC/RSt.GYC by the narrowest of margins.  On the first day of racing Dickson/Waddilove got off to a flying start with two race wins from Adam Hyland and Bill Staunton of RSt.GYC and it was this pairing won race five.  It all went down to the wire for the final race on Sunday and although the Cork Duo took the gun in the final race Dickson and Waddiloves’ second place was sufficient to give them the overall title by a single point from Crosbie and Roberts with Hyland and Staunton finishing third just one further point adrift.

It was the first event staged by Malahide Yacht Club at their newly redeveloped dinghy sailing centre.
