IRELAND’S SONAR SAILORS 5TH IN RACE 6 AT QINGDAO
Ireland’s Paul McCarthy, Paul Ryan and Richard Whealey in the Sonar placed 5th in Race 6 to-day (Thurs) and lie 11th overall. France continues to hold the lead.
In the Skud 18 class Amy Kelehan and John Twomey remain in 10th place after another 10th position in to-day’s only race. The USA crew continue to dominate.
Just one race took place in both the Sonar and Skud 18 classes with racing resuming tomorrow (Fri). The 11 race series is now two races behind schedule. As there are no remaining lay days the Race management Committee will hope to increase the number of races each day to complete the series.
