PARALYMPIC SAILING DAY FIVE AT QINGDAO

Top three result in to-day’s (Fri) racing for Irish Paralympic Sailors in Qingdao.

Ireland’s Paul McCarthy, Paul Ryan and Richard Whealey posted a third in Race 7 to-day in the Sonar Class.  They followed this with a fourth and tenth place in Races 8 and 9 respectively.  They now lie in 9th position overall.  France continues to remain in 1st place overall.

In the Skud 18 class Amy Kelehan and John Twomey placed tenth and Ninth in Races 7 and 8 and remain in 10th place overall.  USA continues to hold the lead in this fleet.

Racing will resume to-morrow (Sat.).  In the  Sonar Class races 10 and 11 are expected to take place to-morrow while Races 9, 10 and 11 are scheduled in the Skud 18 Class.  The medal ceremony will take place to-morrow in both classes.
