What a summer we are having – the activity in the club just keeps building and the sailing courses are in full swing – the sun is shining and the breeze is blowing and the schools are closing – what more could a junior sailor want?

Many are traveling to the Leinsters in Howth this weekend and we wish them well – just to remind you that club racing will be as normal this Saturday and if you are not traveling this could be your chance to make a mark on the league with some of the big guns away. The June Tuesday and Saturday leagues have just one day left each – see how everyone is doing here

The League Prizegiving will be after racing in the Dining Room on next Tuesday – The admiral will be there and the club will also make presentations to our Representative Sailors who shortly depart for the European Championship in Slovenia and the French National Championships.

Hard to believe that Fernando has done three weeks of skills coaching already and that next week is the last of this series – the concept of small evenly matched groups has worked well for the sailors and it will be interesting to see where we are at in terms of the overall standard at the international events coming up. Speaking to Fernando this evening he was delighted particularly with the Green Group this week who he says have made good progress and were much more focused yesterday – well done Greens!

Everyone has their normal group session as per the programme next week (schedue here) but on Saturday 4th we want everyone who has taken part in the coaching to come out – the focus in the morning will be on starting (hence the big group) and Fernando will follow the league racing in the afternoon and give feedback to anyone who wishes to speak to him later.

The rota for July will be circulated by Orla tomorrow – we are utterly dependent on the rostered parents and if you are late or don’t show it puts unfair pressure on the rest of us. Tueday launching has run late each week to date because we have not have the cover on the water. Ribs need to be around by the floating slip and we we need to be launching at 6pm – this means being in the club at 5.30pm on Tuesdays if you are rostered and then getting on with it!
