The Irish National Champion is Diana Kissane of Howth YC for a record 3rd time with Alexander Rumball of RStGYC 2nd and our own Richie Harrington 3rd.
Over 72 local sailors took part in the event which is certainly another record. This bodes well for the future of sailing in the club.
Other notable local sailors' results in the main fleet were as follows:
Killian O'Keeffe – 4th
Conor Lyden – 1st Silver Fleet
Philop Brownlow – 1st Irish 11 year old
Brendan Lyden – 4th Silver Fleet
Amy Harrington – 5th Silver & 1st Female Silver
Amy Clarke – 1st Bronze
Cian Byrne – 2nd Bronze and 1st 10 year old
Richard Roberts – 5th Bronze
John Durcan – 6th Bronze
In the regatta fleet, which is run on a separate course for the less experienced sailors, local sailors also acquitted themselves well. Jamie Tingle was 5th, Emilie MacKeown 7th, William Trevor 8th and Graham Smith 9th out of a total of 64 entrants. The full list of results for the regatta fleet can been seen here
Great credit for the unparalled success of the event is due to the organising committee lead by Deirdre Tingle and the race officers Anthony O'Leary (main fleet) and Richard Leonard (Regatta Fleet).
