The 2008 racing season started on Saturday in a brisk Northerly. It was very much a Harrington affair with Richy and Amy sharing the spoils with father Richard officiating.
Sailors for the first days formal league racing were greeted by a brisk Northerly of 20 knots with gusts of 25. A rib was despatched to check out the conditions on the race area and it was deemed prudent to confine racing to out more experienced sailors and stand down the bronze fleet.
Three windward leeward races were completed and the starts were competitive and the racing close and hotly contested.
Richy Harrington won 2 and was second in the other, while Amy Harrington scored a 1st, 2nd and a 3rd. Conor Lyden and Paul Martin also performed consistently well.
