The first cruising muster of the season was to Courtmacsherry on W/E 30th April /1st May.
Winds were E.N.E. 5 to 6 on the Saturday. Nine boats started out in bright and windy conditions. Six boats completed the trip and three boats decided to turn back.
29 people sat down to a very enjoyable dinner in the Courtmacsharry hotel on the Saturday night where we were served excellent food and were very well looked after by the hotel staff.. Some of those who chose not to sail made the trip by car.
Sunday again had the winds at E.N.E. 5 to 6 with showers and all six boats returned to RCYC on the Sunday.
Courtmacsherry is a beautiful harbour and the people of the village were very welcoming. A visit here either travelling to or from West Cork should not be missed.
Thanks are due also to Kevin Young of The Pier Bar who arranged and assisted with the berthing.
Note: Berthing at the pontoon is not comfortable in strong E.N.E winds at high tide.
