The Sailing Instructions for the much vaunted and highly popular O’Flynn Exhams Autumn Regatta have been published today. The harbour courses have been re-written for the event this year to improve them further from last year. There will be two possible laid courses, a windward/leeward course or a windward/leeward triangle course.
Competitors should also note that racing will be on the first four Sundays of October with the final race on Saturday, October 30th. There will be a maximum of two races per day. Racing counts for the SCORA League.
Intending competitors should note that entries must be received at the Royal Cork Yacht before Saturday, September 25th. Entry fee is €100 and late entries will be subject to a fee of €50 which will be donated to the Crosshaven Lifeboat.
There will again be two fleets with classes Zero, One, Two and 1720 designated as Red Fleet while classes Three, Four, Whitesail One and Whitesail Two will be designated Green Fleet.
The inaugural O’Flynn Exhams Autumn Regatta in 2009 was a hugely successful and highly enjoyable event. On enquiring from the skippers of our glamour fleet Antix, marinerscove.ie and Roxy 6, they very much hope to be in action at the Autumn Regatta this time around . They will be joined by many well known sailing names from the four corners of Ireland and, with the large number of family cruiser racers always making the event the success that it is, we are all looking forward to a feast of sailing and aprés sailing enjoyment for the month of October.
