The first race of the Optimist Europeans was sailing in Piran, Slovenia yesterday. Launching began at 11am with 5 knots of wind coming from an Easterly direction. However, as feared but expected, the wind dropped below 5 knots. Seafra Guilfoyle (RCYC) had a good start and managed to secure a solid 20th in the tightly packed male fleet whilst Tara Flood (HYC) and Fiona Daly (TBSC) placed 13th & 15th in the female fleet. Unfortunately the wind died further and the OOD called it a day.

25 IRL 1315 Flood Tara 13,0 13
