News Flash – SL 16 Multihull

SL16 manufacturers are to launch a 2012 training & demonstration weekend on 16th /17th April 2010. We can confirm that Olympic multihull sailor Rob White and a representative of Serina, the manufacturers of SL16 multihull, will be holding an introductory training weekend in Dun Laoghaire on 16th/17th April 2010 when they will introduce the SL16 to youth sailors interested in campaigning for the ISAF Youth Worlds in 2012.

The SL16 has been selected by the Dublin Bay 2012 organisers as the multihull to be used at the Youth Worlds in Dun Laoghaire. In a very positive move, as part of this agreement, Serina are making 5 boats available to the organising clubs to help train and develop an Irish multihull team for 2012. The boats will be based at the National Yacht Club until the Mitsubishi Youth Championship after which they will be operating from both the Royal St. George and National yacht clubs. It is intended to have the five boats racing in the Mitsubishi event on 1st/2nd/3rd May 2010.

The organisers want to hear from sailors interested in taking part in the training weekend or competing in the Mitsubishi Youth Championships. The weekend is being conducted by Cathy MacAleavey.

Those interested should contact Cathy (NYC) (mobile 087 9480801) or Frank O’Beirne (RSGYC) (mobile 087 2306550)
