The Royal Cork recently took delivery of a new multi purpose dinghy trailer which will be of huge benefit to all junior sailors into the future.
Rear Admiral Dinghies, Darren O’Keeffe, said he was delighted to welcome the arrival of this purpose built trailer to the Club. When fully loaded it has the capacity to accommodate a RIB and up to twelve Optimists. Alternatively it can also accommodate many other types of dinghies such as Lasers and Fevas etc that will be travelling to Regional, National and International events.
The cost of this state of the art trailer was supported by the Club in tandem with funds which were raised by the junior dinghy classes , predominately led by the Optimist class to which Lisheen mine made a contribution to the purchase in order to benefit all our junior sailors now and into the future.
Darren O’Keeffe wished to thank Optimist class captain Linda O Keeffe for getting the project across the line. In addition, Laser class captain Nick Walsh helped towards the appropriate design to ensure that the ‘one size fits all’ specification did actually apply. Finally thanks to Michael McCann who put forward the idea some years ago and also supported by helping towards the most functional design.
