The autumn has well and truly arrived and the evenings are getting shorter – it’s time for evening classes to begin and that includes NAVIGATION CLASSES. The RCYC has it’s very own classes given by Yachtmaster Instructor Eddie English and they begin this week on Wed 24 and Thur 25 Oct and run from 19:30 to 22:15 for 15 evenings.
A NAVIGATION course is more than just navigation – it includes Seamanship, Chartwork, Meteorology, Bouyage, Tides, Compass, Safety, Rules, Lights, Position Finding, Pilotage, Passage Planning and Electronic Navigation.
The Day Skipper Navigation Course is aimed at beginners and improvers and is the most popular course. It is of interest to skippers and crew of cruising and racing yachts, motor cruisers, powerboats and to instructors and potential instructors and interested parents. Suitable for those who wish to sail locally or to cruise West. It is a great forum for discussion and great advice comes form both your presenter – Eddie English – and your fellow pupils.
The Yachtmaster Offshore Navigation Course is and advanced course. It is designed for those who already have their Day Skipper Navigation or have many years experience in navigation. This is the top end course and prepares sailors to sail at home and abroad.
There is a special discount for members of the RCYC and prices are down to what they were 10 years ago – now is the time to do the course.
