National Award for Marine Correspondent Tom MacSweeney’s This Island Nation

Tom MacSweeney’s new radio programme This Island Nation is fast going from strength to strength and rapidly gathering momentum with its increasing audience of listeners.

It has just been announced that the programme has won a national award from the CRAOL Organization, the national association of community radio broadcasters. The programme, in addition to being transmitted from Youghal Community Radio, website is also now being broadcast by Near FM90.3 in the Dublin region and also transmitted on the Afloat.ie website so the marine word is spreading rapidly. Tom of course is also widely known for his weekly sailing column every Thursday on the Evening Echo.

We congratulate him on achieving his award from the CRAOL Organisation and wish him continued success in his important promotion of matters marine.
