Latest Update
Sailors,
A somewhat quiet week again this week with holidays, work and bad weather taking it’s toll on the fleet.
Despite some curious interest last wed. it was definitely not going to be a runner. Low water and 25 kts at CorkBeg confirmed what most knew already. Off home then for most, except Colin, Morgan, Rob and Bendy who decided we could get away with having a few pints before getting rumbled…. A few was all Colin managed, Morgan and Bendy lasted longer due to being out of view from the living room window. Anyway with a better forecast for the end of the week here’s hoping.
Sat was a great day with decent breeze and NO RAIN…. There was a lot of activity last Sat at the club. The Clipper boats were arriving, Keel boats were racing and lots of 420, feva’s and Optimists the bank was getting a bit crowded. With 3 18’s again taking to the water we slotted ourselves onto a patch on the bank nicely and got a decent three races in. Racing was tight between Aquaholics, Happy Days and Hatrick with some good tight weather marks despite some very shifty conditions. Eddie also staked his claim for the defense of the Great White Fin, got a bit to go to catch up with the leaders on that one though.
Weather is anticipated to be much the same this wed as it was today. Don’t forget Sat is Donnelly Trophy with 3 races scheduled. It’s also get out of town day at the RCYC so all those out sailing will have their trolleys relocated for them and all will recover at Castlepoint. It doesn’t get any easier than that so the simplest way to get your boat out of the RCYC this sat is to go sailing !!!!!!
Cheers,
Colin.
