National 18 Fleet Warm Up For Red Hot Season

While a number of our N18’s popped up for the recent PY race in the river, the majority of the growing club fleet will take to the water this month for the start of the midweek leagues; Class Captain , Ewen Barry promises another action packed season which will as always, deliver very competitive dinghy racing.

Howth Y.C. will be the venue for the East Coast Championships at the end of this month and the event will be used to showcase the boats again outside of home waters. Following this, the National Championships will be the next major event and will be run in conjunction with Cork Dinghy Fest at the end of June. This promises to be three days of highly competitive racing in advance of the fleet travelling to Hayling Island S.C. towards the end of July to compete for the ‘Cock ‘O the North’. The South Coast Championships will bring the summer sailing to a close towards the end of August. All this activity will be punctuated with regular racing for both monthly leagues and harbour trophies at home before the boats are put away for a number of months of well earned rest.
