National 18 Class Continues To Expand

The Cork Harbour National 18 Foot Class held it’s AGM in MBSC last night. Those present heard the very positive news that the class is continuing to grow with another 2 new boats on their way to RCYC for the start of the 2017 season. Congratulations to new owners Dave Clancy & Charles Dwyer. This will bring the fleet to 12 boats in the club which is a fantastic achievement in the space of just 2 years.

There is an action packed calendar set for the year starting with the very popular PY1000 on the 25th March. The class will travel to Howth YC for their East Coast Championships on 22nd & 23rd April in conjunction with the RS and SB20 fleets. The Irish Nationals will take place as part of Dinghy Fest and the annual Cock ‘o the North will take place in Hayling Island Sailing Club where the class is targeting a fleet of 20 Ultras, from both Ireland and the UK.

Back to the planned activity on home waters, the class will hold an Invitation Series on June 17th in the club. This event is aimed at those who might be interested in getting involved in the National 18 class.
