RCYC sailors posted strong results at the Laser Munsters in Baltimore sailed in idyllic conditions over the Easter weekend. 151 boats entered which provided excellent racing across the 3 fleets.
4.7 Rig (54 Competitors)
Crosshaven sailors were well represented in the 4.7 fleet with Seafra Guilfoyle winning comfortably in his first event despite being black flagged in the last race, posting three 2nds a 4th and a 6th. Cian Byrne sailed a great event to finish 3rd with 1,2,5,10 & 13. Other creditable RCYC placings were John Durcan 13th, Vicky Cudmore 17th, Katherine Geoghegan 24th, Philip Brownlow 26th, Ewan O’Keeffe 31st, Thomas McGrath 34th, Arran Walsh 44th and Richard Thompson 46th.
Radial Rig (56 Competitors)
With 55 sailors this was a very competitive fleet and with full ISA squad participation had very tight racing. Sam McGinley (35th) and David Whitaker (49th) gained valuable experience in this extremely close fleet.
Standard Rig (42 Competitors)
Nick Walsh finished a creditable 11th counting a 1,2,8,17&18.
