38 competitors took to the water for the first day of the Cork Sailboats October Frostbite Series in light conditions last Sunday. Royal Cork sailors were joined by others from Kinsale, Tralee Bay, Glandore, Monkstown and Cobh.
28 completed pre-racing coaching under George Kingston and his team prior to two races being run under the watchfull eye of John Cudmore, Race Officer.
Leading the racing with two firsts in the full rig was “veteran” Nick Walsh. In Radial, Conor Lyden and Katherine Geoghegan had close competition with a 1st & 2nd each. Amongst the larger 4.7 fleet, Brendan Lydon and Seafra Guilfoyle lead overall in 1st and 2nd place after day 1.

The program for next week is being brought forward with coaching at 10.00 am and the warning signal at 12.30. With additional boats due for delivery over the coming weeks the fleet continues to grow offering competitive and exciting racing for all competitors.
