Another Cork Week over. The club looked great and the racing was excellent. It was good to see our Laser sailors out competing on various yachts.
The Laser Connaughts in Lough Derg had a big Royal Cork contingent with some great results. 12 club sailors competed. Best overall result was Nick Walsh who finished 3rd overall in the Laser Standard Rig and 1st Master. In the Radial fleet Tom McGrath finished an excellent 4th overall. Rebecca O Shaughnessy had a great 4th overall result in the 4.7 fleet. Well done to all the others too. Great showing for the club..
We wish Seafra Guilfoyle the very best of luck at the ISAF youth Worlds which start today in Tavira Portugal. We also wish the best to Patrick Crosbie and Sean Donnelly in the 29er class. Great to see a good Cork contingent at this ‘World Cup’ of sailing for the U18s.
Racing will be on Wednesdays and Saturdays as usual (starting this Wednesday FG 18.30hrs).
Our regular Sunday morning training sessions will continue this Sunday (after a two week break for CW). Rigged and ready for 9.30hrs. Cian Byrne will be our senior coach.
