Laser Radial Womens Worlds 2013 Rizhao City, China

After three days of qualifiers, with six races sailed and one discard applied, today is a reserve day for the competitors at the Laser Radial Womens World Championships at Rizhao City, China.

The flights for October 5th to 7th  have been announced and the fleets divided into Gold and Silver.

Annalise Murphy of the National Yacht Club has quite a battle on her hands and finished yesterday to take 19th place having climbed from 29th.  Going into racing after the reserve day she will be  facing all her big gun rivals ahead of her on points and with conditions being somewhat light, but  with more wind forecast, will have to work hard to get ahead.

Paige Railey USA is leading on 14 pts with Dongshuang Zhang of the host club in 4th place on 25 pts. Weymouth silver medalist, Marit Bouwmeester NED is 5th on 26 pts with Alison Young GBR 6th also on 26 pts.  Weymouth gold medalist Lijia Xu CHN is 13th on 36 pts with Evi Van Acker BEL 14th on 37 pts and Annalise Murphy IRL 19th on 58 pts.

The competitors will to day be able to relax in the sunshine at the beach in Rizhao  and there should  be some interesting sailing awaiting us when racing resumes October 5th. With Rizhao being ten hours ahead of us in the time zone it means they are practically finishing their day when we are starting ours.
