The sunny south east lived up to it’s reputation last weekend for the Laser Leinster Championship. After a light and misty start on Saturday morning, the breeze filled in and the sun came out for a glorious afternoon sailing in Wexford Harbour. The wind continued to pick up on Sunday with a strong south-easterly with gust up to 27 knots, forcing a premature end to the event at lunchtime. Royal Cork was well represented in the 4.7 class with Richard Thompson (photo) winning 3rd place and Douglas Elmes in 4th – a great result for his first event in the Laser. Strong performances also from Billy Duane, Eva Donworth and Luke McGrath. Well done to all.
