To-day (Sat) Anthony O’Leary RCYC, showed his sailing prowess with two race wins and secured his place in the finals of the Euro Car Parks sponsored Irish Sailing Association All Ireland Sailing Championship hosted by Howth Yacht Club. In Flight Two O’Leary and Nigel Biggs automatically secured a place in to-morrow’s final when they placed first and second respectively.
In Flight Three Peter O’Leary and Simon Brien also secured their places in the final when they placed first and second respectively. Yesterday in Flight One Tim Goodbody and Stefan Hyde secured first and second placings to secure their spots in the final line up. Nicholas O’Leary finished third in Flight Two and qualified for the final following his 2nd, 5th and 2nd results. Gareth Flanigan qualified following his 5th, 2nd and 4th results in Flight Three. Nigel Spain who was third in Flight One has now exited the competition.
The final series of races will take place to-morrow (Sun) at 11.00 hrs. at Howth Yacht Club.
Racing in the Junior and Girls All Ireland Sailing Championship was abandoned due to high winds and will begin to-morrow.
