IODAI Ulsters in Skerries May 25th & 26th

It was a great weekend at the IODAI Ulsters in Skerries.

Day one had overcast skies and a fresh breeze but nothing too heavy. All the fleets successfully launched off the beach at a low tide, which was interesting for them as they couldn't use their centerboards for quite a while due to depth restrictions! They had 3 good races which constituted a series thankfully, as day 2 was canceled due to very high winds and a very choppy sea state.

On day 2 the race officials met and decided it was too dangerous for sailing that day and canceled the sailing early on before lunch which was the right decision.

All of ur RCYC sailors did very well, the 4 sailors below won trophies too:

Isha Duggan - 1st Regatta over 11
Craig O’Neill Jnr - 2nd Senior Silver
James Dwyer Matthews- 2nd Senior Gold
Ben O'Shaughnessy - 1st Senior Gold

Well done to all the sailors who took part, it's great to see you all having a great time out on the water at these events, making friends for life!

Thank you to Skerries Sailing Club you put on a great event, well run and you called it right on day 2.
