The event will run from July 29th to August 7th and will feature racing for seven classes, from Class Zero to Class Four in the cruisers, together with two White Sail classes.
Numbers in the fleet for the opening cruiser race have been increased by the welcome inclusion of up to six Dublin based boats that will join the local fleet in the offshore overnight Fastnet/Schull race starting from Crosshaven on Friday July 29th at 19.30hrs.
The event will see the return to Calves Week action , after her winter refit, of former Club Commodore Morgan O’ Donovan’s “Loco” who will go head to head in Class Zero with Kieran Twomeys “Gloves Off” and Conor and Denise Phelan in “Jump Juice”.
This year Schull Community Council will organise a series of onshore entertainments that promise to create an on street carnival atmosphere for the hundreds of sailors attending the impromptu après sail parties.
With confirmed entries now topping the fifty mark, it is expected that the final line up will exceed sixty five augmented by the inclusion of a growing local White Sail class.
